Stop 1: Lake Stymphalia in Corinthia
Stymphalia is one of the very few natural mountain lakes in Greece (altitude of 620 meters).
It is a location with mythological background, the place where Heracles held one of his labors. In myth, the basin was said to be the home of the Stymphalian birds, the man-eating beasts that Hercules defeated as his sixth feat.
Each season offers a very different scene. Its water level varies from 0.50 meters in the summer to 2.5 meters, sometimes even 4, in the winter. Its size changes seasonally and is directly related to rainfalls.
Stymphalia Lake in Corinthia belongs to the European Network of Protected Areas NATURA 2000. As a result, it is the perfect place to observe a place where a great variety of animals and plants are present.
You should definitely visit the Environment Museum of Stymphalia, where you can realise the interdependence of mankind and nature. There is an open aquarium representing a cross-section of the lake, with live fish and plants of the region.
The Museum organizes educational programmes with games and activities such as the programme «Secret games, in the lake’s waters».
Stop 2: Lake Doxa
Doxa is an artificial lake, 880 meter above the sea level, located in Ancient Feneos in Corinthia. Although it is a man-made lake, its beauty is unbelievable. The landscape will definitely remind you of the Alps!
Lake Doxa is surrounded by Dourdouvana, Ziria and Helmos mountains and their snow-capped peaks mirror on the water. The lake has a peninsula, at the end of which the graphic chapel of Staint Fanourios is located.
Except from the beautiful view, you can enjoy many activities there. Beside the hiking routes, Hydrobikes and Canoe Kayaks are available.

Stop 3: Have a great time at Ziria ski center in Corinthia

The place is ideal for activities as skiing, snowboarding, hiking or operating snowmobiles & buggies. There is direct access to a total of 2 lifts to transport the guests. The winter sports area is between the elevations of 2,080 and 2,374 m.

Stop 4: Staying for the night at Trikala village
Trikala is a very popular destination close to Ziria ski center. For sure, it’s the right choice to enjoy an overnight stay at Corinthia’s Mountains.
There are many options for you to stay there: Hotels, suites, wooden chalets, traditional hostels, stone houses and spa resorts, which all combine tradition and luxury!
The village is devided into lower, middle and upper Trikala and there are many taverns and cafes to visit.

There is not a gas station at the village, so you have to full your tank before you visit the area. In case of bad weather snow chains are necessary to have, too!
